Network Security

Summary

IoT devices such as smart speakers, drones, and wearable devices are widely penetrated over mobile networks. Furthermore, 6G mobile networks are scheduled to be commercialized by 2030. In 6G, the number and types of devices connected from IoT to IoE (Internet of Everything) will increase enormously, and high-quality information, for example, three-dimensional images, will be transmitted. The communication area will be further expanded to outer space and under the sea. IoE terminals with limited computing power, high-quality content such as 3D images, and communication environments that are inaccessible to humans will become targets of new attacks.
In this research area, we are conducting research to ensure security in such new communication environments of next-generation mobile networks.

Study Items

  • Encryption/authentication protocols and key management in wireless environments where many different devices are connected
  • Security design of network systems in various communication environments and communication terminals, including space and undersea
  • Automation of security operations in network systems
